Wakulla High School Cheer is partnering with OneBlood for a Blood Drive on Thursday, October 15, from 8:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. at Wakulla High School.

Donors can sign up by scanning the QR code on the flyer or by registering during lunch October 13–14.

Students must be 16 or older to donate. Students under 18 must have a signed parent/guardian permission slip. Permission slips will be available during lunch October 13–14 or in the WHS front office.
All donors will receive refreshments, a Halloween T-shirt and a wellness checkup.*

Wakulla High School vs. Godby High School football game originally scheduled for Friday, October 9, has been rescheduled for Tuesday, October 13, at 7:00 p.m.

All Senior Night activities will also take place Tuesday evening in conjunction with the football game.

Wakulla County Schools will be CLOSED Friday, October 9, 2026.

After continued monitoring of Tropical Storm Isaias and the potential impacts to Wakulla County, Superintendent Rick Myhre has made the decision to close all Wakulla County Schools tomorrow.

The safety of our students, staff and families remains our highest priority.

For additional information regarding this decision, please see the email sent today from Superintendent Myhre.

Monday, October 12, remains a scheduled Teacher Planning Day with no school for students. Students will return to school Tuesday, October 13.

Families and staff should continue to monitor email, text messages, the WCS website, mobile app and district social media platforms for official updates.

Wakulla County Schools is actively monitoring Tropical Storm Isaias and the latest forecasts for the Gulf Coast. We will continue to monitor conditions closely and make any decisions regarding school closures or schedule changes as the potential impact to Wakulla County becomes clearer.

At this time, all Wakulla County Schools are scheduled to operate on a regular schedule Friday, October 9, 2026.

Families are encouraged to make sure their contact information is current in the Focus Parent Portal to ensure they receive timely updates.

Should any changes become necessary, official information will be communicated through email, text message, the Wakulla County Schools website, the WCS mobile app and all school and district social media platforms.

We will continue to monitor conditions and share additional information as needed.

SENIORS — DON’T MISS THE DEADLINE!

The $250 deposit for the 2027 Senior Trip is due Friday, October 31.

The total cost of the trip is $550, and deposits are non-refundable. Students may make payments at any time toward the remaining balance.

BECOME A WCSO EXPLORER!

The Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office is inviting students in grades 8–12, including homeschool students, to learn more about the WCSO Explorer Program!

Interested students and families are invited to attend an informational meeting on Thursday, October 8, at 6 p.m. at the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office, 15 Oak Street in Crawfordville.

The Explorer Program gives young people an opportunity to learn more about law enforcement, develop leadership skills and get an inside look at serving their community.

CLARIFICATION

We want to clarify the message shared earlier regarding the Wakulla High School Clear Bag Policy.

Beginning Friday, October 9, the clear bag policy will apply to WHS ATHLETIC EVENTS.

This policy is intended to help make entry into athletic venues safer and more efficient. It does not apply to students during the regular school day.

We apologize for any confusion and appreciate your attention to this clarification.

Students are reminded to stay focused on their grades, attendance and behavior so they remain in Good Standing and eligible to participate in Homecoming activities.

• There is no school for students Monday, October 12 due to a Teacher Planning Day

Wakulla High School Spirit Week is October 26–30, and we’re ready to see students and staff bring the fun all week long!

Monday kicks things off with Country vs. Country Club, followed by Twin Day Tuesday, Teachers vs. Students Wednesday, Decades Day Thursday and, of course, Spirit Day Friday.
