Wakulla Community Invited to Celebrate Local Talent at “Celebration of the Arts”

The Wakulla County Arts Coalition is inviting the community to come together for a vibrant showcase of student creativity at its annual Celebration of the Arts, taking place on April 18 at 10 a.m. at Wakulla High School.

This family-friendly event highlights the incredible artistic talent of students across Wakulla County, from elementary through high school. Attendees can expect a lively morning filled with performances and visual displays representing a wide range of programs.

The event will feature performances from school groups including choir, band, guitar, dance and theatre, offering something for every arts enthusiast. In addition to the live entertainment, student artwork will be showcased, giving guests the opportunity to experience the visual arts alongside the performing arts, including a silent auction.

Beyond celebrating creativity, the Celebration of the Arts serves an important purpose. Proceeds from the event go directly toward scholarships for Wakulla High School seniors who plan to pursue careers in the arts, helping to support the next generation of artists, performers, and creators.

Tickets are affordably priced at $5 for adults and $3 for students and can be purchased at the door or in advance at teachtix.com/wakullahs.

Community members are encouraged to attend, support local students, and experience the rich artistic spirit of Wakulla County.

Celebration of the Arts

The Wakulla High School Track & Field team had a strong week as they closed out the regular season!

Amariyah Donaldson continued her success, placing 2nd in High Jump.

On April 9, the War Eagles competed at the Wewa Gator Crawl Meet and delivered outstanding performances across multiple events. Jacob Kinsey took 1st place in Discus with a PR of 39.06m. CJ Whitehead earned 1st place in Shot Put with a PR of 13.09m, while Brice Rowan followed with a 2nd place finish and a PR of 12.82m. Sian Garrett placed 2nd in Shot Put, and Amariyah Donaldson added another 2nd place finish in High Jump.

The Girls 4x100 relay team—Madison Bridges, Antrice Bradwell, Kiley Turner, and Akayla Joaceus-Graham—set another personal record with a time of 50.61, earning 2nd place.

Next up, the War Eagles will compete at the 2A-2 District Meet at Florida High on April 23, beginning at 2:00 PM.

We invite our community to come out and support these athletes as they compete for a spot at Regionals.

Thank you to our incredible Automotive program at Wakulla High School!

After the Keep Wakulla County Beautiful Apalachicola National Forest Cleanup, dozens of tires were left behind—and without help, the county would have had to cover the cost of removal.

Mr. Usherwood’s class stepped up without hesitation. Our students got to work removing rims from 40–50 tires, helping prepare them for proper disposal and saving valuable county resources.

This is what Career & Technical Education is all about—real skills, real work, and real impact in our community.

Keep up the great work, War Eagles!
