Two ways to stay connected for the 2026–2027 school year!

Wakulla County Schools offers families two important tools to stay connected with their child’s teacher, school, and district.

Tired of depending on social media algorithms to see important school updates? The Wakulla County Schools app puts the information you need right at your fingertips.

Over the past two weeks, Phase 1 demolition has continued, and Buildings 5, 6, and 9 have now come down as part of the construction process for the new Wakulla High School. These buildings included the old Engineering building, the ACE hallway, band room, weight room, various classrooms, and the carpentry building.

We know these changes are visible, emotional, and exciting all at once. For generations of War Eagles, these buildings were part of campus life. Now, their removal marks an important step toward the future of WHS and the students who will walk the halls of a brand-new school.

Parking and safety improvements are also moving forward before the start of the school year. The temporary gravel parking lot and the lot between the baseball field and tennis courts are expected to be ready by the first day of school, weather permitting. New crosswalks and lighted stop signs will also be added at both parking areas to support student safety.

Additional information about Open House, student parking, traffic flow, and arrival procedures will be shared next week ahead of our Open House dates. Families are encouraged to keep watch for those updates and review the information before coming to campus. Updates will be shared via parent/guardian email, website, Wakulla High School section on the Wakulla County School app, and social media platforms.

As construction continues, we encourage students, families, faculty, staff, and the Wakulla community to be aware that there may be some adjustments along the way. The first days may require a bit of flexibility, but each step brings us closer to the future home of the War Eagles, and we thank you for your continued support.
