Ms. Pope and her Foundations for Journalism and Social Media Strategy students would like to thank Vance O’Steen, a graduate from the Class of 2018, for coming back to campus to speak.
Vance shared his educational journey from Wakulla High’s TV Production program under Mr. Marc Bowerman to earning a B.A. in Journalism from University of Florida and an MFA in Film Production with an emphasis on Directing from Florida State University's College of Motion Picture Arts
He now works as a Radio/TV Production Specialist at The Florida Channel, a public affairs programming service funded by the Florida Legislature and produced and operated by WFSU-TV.
During his presentation, Vance shared his professional experiences, emphasizing the importance of networking and creative persistence. He encouraged students to just “keep creating” and shared a piece he produced with The Florida Channel, offering students an inside look at the world of professional media production.
It was an inspiring visit from one of Wakulla High’s own!
