Wakulla High School’s Theatre Department is bringing laughter to the stage this weekend with its production of Check Please, the wildly popular 30 minute one-act comedy by Jonathan Rand. Known for its quick wit, eccentric characters, and fast-paced dialogue, Check Please follows two hopeful romantics—Guy and Girl—as they navigate a series of hilariously disastrous blind dates.

From overeager clingers to germaphobes, each date pushes the lead characters closer to the realization that maybe the right person has been beside them all along. The play’s relatable humor and rapid-fire structure makes it a favorite for schools and community theatres across the nation.

Now, with a fun twist, WHS is offering two viewing options. On Saturday, December 13th, the theatre program will team up with the culinary arts program for dinner and a show! Tickets can be purchased online only for $15 for a salad, flatbread pizza, dessert and a show! Join WHS for lunch at 12:30 or dinner at 6:30. The following day, December 14th, a normal performance will be held in the auditorium at 2:30 and 6:30 for $3 for students and $5 for adults. Because the theatre program has grown so much, this show features two talented casts with each group performing once each day. Join WHS and support two growing programs and dozens of talent students.
