All students eat free

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WAKULLA COUNTY, FL — For the 2025–2026 school year, every student enrolled in Wakulla County Schools will receive free breakfast and lunch daily, thanks to a combination of federal support and local funding.

All elementary schools, middle schools, and Wakulla Institute remain covered under the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), a federally funded program that allows qualifying schools to provide meals at no cost to all students, regardless of household income.

To ensure that high school students also benefit, the Wakulla County School Board voted on June 16, 2025, to extend coverage to Wakulla High School, which was not CEP-eligible during the 2024–2025 school year.

As a result, all schools in the district — elementary, middle, Wakulla Institute, and Wakulla High School — will offer free breakfast and lunch to every student for the 2025–2026 school year.

“When students are nourished, they thrive — academically, socially, and emotionally,” said Wakulla High School Principal Michele Falk. “Including Wakulla High in this initiative is a win for every War Eagle family.”

At Wakulla High School, students will have access to four main meal lines, a school food truck, and an à la carte school store. While all students will receive free breakfast and lunch from the main line, à la carte and store items will remain available for optional purchase.
